Tory County Council admits we need a new school

11.45.15am GMT Thu 28th Jan 2010

Finally the Tory run County council has admitted it has a severe problem with schools.

Sal Brinton, Liberal Democrat parliamentary candidate for Watford commented on the revelation from the man in charge of school places in Hertfordshire: "At last the Tories accept that new schools are desperately needed in Watford and south west Hertfordshire. From calling our Liberal Democrat campaign for new schools "nonsense" a fortnight ago, he has done a complete U Turn. However, he doesn't mention that any new schools will actually be built in Watford, which is worrying. I urge him to reconsider, as up to 41 temporary classrooms in five or more Watford primary schools is inefficient and expensive."
